Brief Description:  Fuel flow and plumbing

Filled the fuel tank with water to check for plumbing leaks. Total capacity from the bottom of the finger filter to the expected max fill level with a small air space left was 15.8 gallons.

Marked the tank and sight gauge as each gallon was added.

Fuel flow with all hardware from the tank to the outlet of the angle fitting that goes into the carb was as follows:

Fuel level/flow rate: 4.5 Gal/28.28 gph. 3.0 Gal/27.25 gph, 2.0 Gal/26.46 gph, 1.0 Gal/25.77 gph. Note in image 1 that the outlet is at the level of the carb.

Seems to be plenty of flow for an expected max flow rate of about 6 gph. I will need to repeat this with fuel, but the viscosity of fuel is about half that of water, so the flow should be a little higher. The surface tension of fuel is also lower, so I'll need to watch any weeping. I will also check the flow with a low level and about 20 degrees nose up to simulate a max angle takeoff with minimum fuel.

Drilled holes in the top of the instrument panel and installed MS21047L08 anchor nuts. This will allow removal of the instrument panel if needed without removing the glareshield.
